CAA Community Call to Action

Posted By: Michael Mini Industry,

Dear Members,

As we contemplate the tragic events of last week, we want to affirm our commitment to racial justice and rejection of all forms of bigotry and hatred. Throughout the country, people are calling for an end to institutional racism and searching for the best path forward.

The Chicagoland Apartment Association is committed to providing an environment where people of all ethnicities, genders, ages, races, and orientations are included, respected, and valued. The furtherance of fair housing, equal opportunity principles, and practices in the apartment industry is critical to ensuring equity in the fair treatment and service to all residents.

Diversity and inclusion training start with unconscious bias. To help your teams move forward, the National Apartment Association is offering free access to Franklin Covey's two-hour Unconscious Bias course on Visto through the end of July.* (See details in Education In Focus section below). This thought-provoking training can help begin an important dialogue about inclusion and transform your company's culture.

For best practices and other resources, go the NAA's Diversity and Inclusion page on their website.
