Meet with State Representatives and Senators to discuss critical legislation on issues affecting apartment ownership and property management.
Impact legislation on critical issues like rent control, affordable housing, and the sealing of eviction records.
Itinerary
11:00 – 11:30 Registration & Legislative Briefing (Sangamo Club: 227 E Adams St, Springfield, IL 62701)
11:45 – 1:00 Lunch at Sangamo Club
1:00 – 2:15 Meetings with Legislators (Illinois State Capitol Building)
2:15 – 3:00 Guest Speaker (Location TBD)
Once you have registered above, use CAA’s three-step guide and the District Locator to email your 2 state legislators to alert them of your presence in Springfield on April 3rd (see guide for a sample email).
- Formal meetings in Springfield are unlikely, so letting legislators know you hope to connect with them that day gives you a greater chance of communicating with them (whether it be in the hallway outside of a hearing, on the way to their next meeting, etc.). If they do have meeting availability between 1:00 and 2:00pm, please agree to a sit-down meeting (though it is not necessary).
