Requirements for obtaining a NALP designation include:
- Apartment Leasing Experience – Candidates may begin the designation program at any time, but are required to have six months of leasing experience before being awarded the designation
- NALP Courses – NALP candidates must successfully complete seven assigned courses (NALP Course Descriptions)
- NALP Market Survey and Presentation – NALP candidates must successfully complete three market surveys, comparing them to their own property in a verbal and written presentation
- NALP Exam – NALP candidates must successfully pass a cumulative final online exam
- All requirements must be met within 12 months of declaring candidacy
