NALP Designation

National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP):  The NALP is the premier educational offering for leasing personnel.

Courses/topics of the NALP program include:

  • Keys to Success in Leasing
  • Leasing and the Internet
  • The Leasing Interview and Qualifying Residents
  • Fair Housing & Legal Aspects
  • Telephone Presentations
  • Rental Policies and Procedures
  • Leasing Demonstration and Resolving Objections

Requirements for obtaining a NALP designation include:

  • Apartment Leasing Experience – Candidates may begin the designation program at any time, but are required to have six months of leasing experience before being awarded the designation
  • NALP Courses – NALP candidates must successfully complete seven assigned courses
  • NALP Market Survey and Presentation – NALP candidates must successfully complete three market surveys, comparing them to their own property in a verbal and written presentation
  • NALP Exam – NALP candidates must successfully pass a cumulative final online exam
  • All requirements must be met within 12 months of declaring candidacy
