Three Months of Rental Assistance Available for Asylum Seekers

Applications for the Asylum Seekers Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ASERAP) are currently available for asylum seekers. This program provides up to 3 months of rental assistance, plus move-in fee, and payments are made directly to participating landlords.

The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and partnering community organizations are seeking participation from area housing providers to meet their migrant housing goals. Landlords who wish to participate in the program can contact IHDA at 866-454-3571, or aserap@ihda.org. Landlords can also fill out the landlord interest form through Catholic Charities.
